Privacy notice

This notice explains what happens to the details you give us through this site or our phone line. It covers the enquiry form, phone calls and emails about your Northern Lights holiday.

Who we are

Northern Lights Escapes is run by ContentWorks in partnership with The JLT Group. ContentWorks runs this site and the phone line, and is responsible for the details you send through them. ContentWorks is the trading name of Dan Jaques, a sole trader. His address for service and a contact email are at the foot of this page.

Your enquiry goes straight to our travel team at The JLT Group (Janine Loves Travel, a trading name of Janine Loves Ltd), who plan and book your trip. Once they have your details, The JLT Group is responsible for them too, under its own privacy notice: [link to The JLT Group's privacy notice, to confirm before launch].

Our host

Freya Holt is the AI-created host of Northern Lights Escapes. Your trip is planned by our real travel team at The JLT Group.

What we collect

From the enquiry form: your name, a phone number or email address, how you would like us to reach you, and anything you add about your trip. That can include the rough month, where you are thinking of going, the number of nights, the type of trip, how many adults are going, any children's ages, your departure airport, a rough budget per person and whether you have booked something similar before.

From a phone call: your number and the call recording. [Whether a written transcript is made, and how the automated assistant handles your answers, is confirmed after the test call passes.] When you call, an automated assistant answers first. It tells you it is automated, asks the same questions as the form, and saves your answers so our travel team can call you back. Calls may be recorded.

From an email: your email address and what you write. If you ask us to email first, our travel team may send a short set of questions about your trip, then offer a phone or video call.

The form asks nothing about your health, and we ask you not to send health details through it. If something about your health matters to your trip, tell our travel team on the call.

This site sets no cookies and runs no tracking scripts.

Why we use it

• To let our travel team at The JLT Group contact you about the trip you asked about, in the way you chose.
• To plan and quote that trip with you. Any booking is then made with The JLT Group.
• To keep a record of each enquiry, so we can answer questions about it and see which pages and calls bring enquiries.
• To check calls and the automated assistant are working properly.

We do not use your details for marketing. If that ever changes, we will ask first, with a box you tick yourself.

Who reads it

• Our travel team at The JLT Group, who contact you and plan your trip.
• The companies that run our services for us: our phone and call-answering provider (including the automated assistant), our website host, our form provider and our customer-records service. They act on our instructions only.

We never sell your details.

Sending your details outside the UK

Some of the companies that run our services for us may store or handle your details outside the UK. Where they do, your details are protected by [safeguard, to be named before launch].

Your rights

You can ask to see the details we hold about you, ask us to correct them, or ask us to delete them. You can ask us to restrict how we use them, and ask for a copy in a form you can take elsewhere. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
